Hello, I’m Deborah and wish you a warm welcome to Alcyon Hair and Beauty.
I have been a part of the hairdressing and beauty industry for 32 years. The love of Hair and Beauty started at a very young age and developed into a passion that drives me every day. Empowering women to look and feel the best version of themselves is a great honour and a significant reason why I opened Alcyon Hair and Beauty in the beautiful leafy suburb of Kalinga. 

I am passionate about the products used to create the looks for our guests. My vast knowledge of ingredients and the affects they can have on our Hair, Skin and Nails was the catalyst for me to make Alcyon as FREE FROM SLS, SLES, PARABAN, SULPHATES, PPD, RESORCINOL, AMMONIA, MMA (found in Acrylic Nails), TALC, ANIMAL CRUELTY FREE, VEGAN FRIENDLY, GLUTEN FREE.
We absorb 65% of what we apply topically and absorbing these chemicals into our liver only causes stress on its function and therefore making our kidneys work harder than necessary. 

I firmly believe health shouldn’t be compromised for beauty and the quest for enhancing our natural beauty doesn’t need to compromise our health. After researching extensively, I found it was possible to use high performing products in our services without causing harm to our inner health. Reducing the loading of unnecessary chemicals on our system and its function is the backbone of the products chosen for our guests and our team.

Meet the Team

  • Jo has been with us as our Front of House and Salon Receptionist for over 5 years now.

    Jo has a beautiful energy and spirit that welcomes our guests warmly and takes care of their future appointments and anything they need while in the salon. Jo brings into Alcyon her vast knowledge of co-ordinating experience, stock control and ordering from her own background in business and supports our team, making our days run smoothly. She gives our team the ability to focus on our guests who are our number one priority.

  • Hi, I’m Emily! I started hairdressing from a young age and quickly became passionate about all things Hair and Beauty.

    15 years later I am still as passionate and love to let my creativity flow through all my work, especially Formal and Bridal Styling.
    I love to gain the trust of my guests with my extensive knowledge from continuous training but most importantly my relaxed and calm personality.

  • Phalla (Pia) the newest team member to join the Alcyon family in June 2022 and brings with her an abundance of talent to her role as our Nail Technician/Manicurist.

    Specialising in Apres Nail Systems, Nail Art, relaxing Manicures & Pedicures, you will absolutely love how diligently she delivers our Nail and Pedicure services.

  • Sophia has just completed the first year of her school based apprenticeship and will be joining us in 2022 full-time as a 2nd Year Hairdresser.

    Her warm and bubbly personality is a perfect addition to our Alcyon family. Sophia loves blow drying, Ghd Waving, Upstyles including awesome braids and helping our guests feel comfortable and spoilt during their services.
